Dear, Ami Privacy Policy
Effective Date: [June 1st, 2026]
Dear, Ami (“the App”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App stores, processes, and transmits, what information is not stored on developer-operated servers, and how data is handled when you use Dear, Ami.
1. Personal Information and Account Registration
Dear, Ami does not require account registration to use its core features.
Dear, Ami does not operate a user account system for chat use and does not require you to submit personal information to developer-operated servers in order to start using the App.
However, the App may process data that can relate to you or your activity, depending on how you use the App. This may include:
- chat messages you enter
- profile or personalization information you enter into the App
- selected memory context derived from prior chat history
- AI prompts used to generate replies or images
- server addresses and endpoint settings that you configure
- technical and diagnostic information generated when the App connects to third-party or user-configured services
2. AI Services and User-Configured Endpoints
Dear, Ami does not provide or use a developer-operated AI service by default. Instead, the App allows users to connect to AI endpoints that they configure themselves, such as:
- a user-configured Ollama server for chat generation
- a user-configured Ollama embedding endpoint for memory retrieval, when enabled
- a user-configured ComfyUI server for image generation, when enabled
When these AI features are used, the App may transmit the following data to the user-configured endpoint selected by the user:
- chat messages entered by the user
- selected memory context retrieved from on-device chat history
- persona or conversation context included in the AI prompt
- image prompts used for image generation
- technical connection details necessary to reach the configured endpoint
This data is used only to:
- generate AI replies requested by the user
- retrieve relevant memory context for AI responses
- generate images requested by the user
Dear, Ami stores chats, profile data, memory records, and app settings on the user’s device. We do not operate a relay service for these AI requests and do not route these AI requests through our own servers.
Because these AI endpoints are configured and managed by the user, data handling that occurs within the user’s own Ollama server, ComfyUI server, PC, Mac, local network, VPN, proxy, or other connected environment is outside the control of Dear, Ami and is governed by that environment.
3. In-App Disclosure and Consent
Before the first AI request that may transmit data to a configured AI endpoint, the App presents an in-app disclosure explaining what data may be sent and asks for the user’s consent.
Users may later withdraw this consent in the App’s Settings. If consent is withdrawn, the App may block AI features that require data transmission until consent is provided again.
4. Data Stored on Your Device
Dear, Ami may store the following information locally on your device:
- chat history
- memory records derived from conversations
- profile and personalization data
- app settings and preferences
- configured endpoint addresses and related connection settings
- locally saved generated images, if the relevant feature is used
This locally stored data is used to provide App functionality, preserve conversation continuity, support personalization, and allow the App to reconnect to the AI environment you configured.
5. Data Not Stored on Developer-Operated Servers
Dear, Ami does not store the following information on developer-operated servers for its core AI chat flow:
- chat content
- memory records generated from your chats
- names, nicknames, persona settings, or other personalization data entered by the user for chat use
- local server addresses entered by the user for AI connections
- image prompts sent to a user-configured ComfyUI server
- GPS location data collected for AI chat use
- contacts, microphone recordings, camera images, or photo library content for AI chat use
This statement does not limit processing that may occur on third-party services or user-configured environments described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy.
6. Supabase and Other Cloud Content Services
Dear, Ami may use Supabase or similar cloud content services to retrieve public app data or operational data needed to provide App features.
This may include:
- announcements
- app version information
- in-app display content
- template or catalog content
- default configuration data
- update notices
Dear, Ami does not use Supabase to process AI chat requests sent to your configured Ollama or ComfyUI endpoints.
However, when the App communicates with cloud services such as Supabase, service providers may process technical information such as:
- IP address
- request time
- device or app information
- network-related diagnostic logs
Such processing is subject to the applicable policies of the relevant service provider.
7. Advertising and AdMob
Depending on the app build or enabled features, Dear, Ami may use Google AdMob to display advertisements.
AdMob or its service providers may process information such as:
- device information
- advertising identifiers
- ad request data
- diagnostic information
- approximate location inferred from IP address
Dear, Ami does not use user chat content, memory content, or image prompts for ad targeting.
Dear, Ami does not sell personal information to third parties and does not intentionally use cross-app tracking for personalized advertising unless this is separately disclosed and consented to where required by applicable law or platform policy.
8. Third-Party Networking Tools and External Software
Dear, Ami may provide guidance on using third-party networking tools such as Tailscale to help users connect to their local AI servers from outside their local network.
Dear, Ami may also interoperate with external software selected by the user, including Ollama, ComfyUI, VPN tools, proxies, and related networking utilities.
These services and tools are separate from Dear, Ami. If you choose to install or use them, their own privacy policies, terms of service, logging behavior, and security settings will apply. Dear, Ami is not responsible for data processed by those third-party tools or by user-managed environments.
9. Device Permissions
Dear, Ami requests device permissions only when they are necessary to provide App functionality.
For example, the App may request permissions related to:
- notifications
- local media or photo saving features
Dear, Ami does not currently use GPS location data for its core AI chat functionality.
If additional permissions are required for future features, the App will explain the purpose of the permission request and, where appropriate, request consent before using such permissions.
10. Data Retention and Deletion
Because Dear, Ami does not store core AI chat data on developer-operated servers, we do not maintain a separate developer-side retention period for that data.
Data stored locally on your device may remain until you delete it. Users may remove locally stored data by:
- deleting chats or other content within the App, where supported
- resetting App settings or App data
- changing or removing configured endpoints
- withdrawing AI data transfer consent in Settings
- deleting the App from the device
Any data stored in your own Ollama server, ComfyUI server, PC, Mac, VPN, proxy, or other third-party software must be deleted directly from that environment.
11. Children’s Privacy
Dear, Ami is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children on developer-operated servers for core App use.
If you believe that a child’s personal information has been provided to us through a channel we control, please contact us using the information below. We will review the matter and take appropriate action if necessary.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time due to changes in App functionality, operations, applicable laws, service integrations, or app store policies.
If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we may notify users through the Dear, Ami website, App updates, or in-app notices.
